Where you from ??
Its not a hard job any car mechanic would be able to it. Don't go to a Subaru dealer tho as there prices are just ridiculous.

HI
When you drill a disc , you drill through the grain structure which weakens them , they can then end up cracking around the holes , which would end up cracking across the disc going from hole to hole.

Car's that have drilled discs as standard , like Porsche's ect , have the discs cast with the holes already in them , then machine finish them , this way the grain structure follows the shape of the holes making them much stronger , but even they , with track abuse , can still crack , all the discs you see on ebay , and from sellers on here , all have the discs drilled from plain blanks.

I make discs here , so know the in's and out's of everything you need to know about brakes , we have a full CNC machine shop , we are not just box movers.

Cheers Ian

Putting grooves into discs also weakens the structure

For normal to fast road use, with something like a mild kevlar pad, drilled discs pose no problem and the pad will likely exceed it's capabilities before the discs do.

We have in stock grooved, drilled and grooved, plain OEM spec, 1 piece and 2 piece

Drilled and grooved look rather smart:

But so do these:

https://www.scoobynet.com/members-ga...ny-brakes.html

Sometimes, standard discs and pads suit customers just fine too.

So many options your head is probably spinning

I have 18 years experience in making performance discs , in that time I have never seen a disc crack because it was grooved , but have seen loads cracked because they were drilled, by grooving a disc you will not weaken it , but you will weaken it by drilling right through it.

A grooved only disc is more reliable for a road car

Cheers Ian
