Question D1 SPEC WHEEL NUTS

Ok guys i know this is going to sound stupid but here goes anyway.

I've got a set of D1 nuts and was just wondering the best way of getting them on without damaging the outside paint Surely if i use an ordinary wheel brace it will scrape them?

Any hints or tip appreciated

No locking nut. Suppose you can keep a standard lock nut though and wouldnt look out of place.

I colour code my locking nut, had the wheels off a few times since fitting the D1's, a few tiny marks, but if your careful with the socket and make sure its seated properely be fine.

worth mentioning that when you do find a way of tightening them without marking them, whatever you do dont overtighten. 65nm max iirc. they strip very easily indeed

Had mine on for about 6 months+, offen check the tightness once a month just for peace of mind, but they have NEVER came loose atall.
Also just to confirm that I have tightened my upto 65Nm and they have been fine.
