Hi all,

I am travelling to the USA at two separate times soon.

Las Vegas middle of March which I have an ESTA aproved for.

I then booked a trip to NYC next week and couldn't find any info online as to whether I needed two ESTA's or is the 1 sufficient for both my travels? The ESTA online currently has the hotel info for Las Vegas and you can't add multiple trips on there. Is it a case of adding the NYC hotel then when I am back updating the Vegas hotel details? Or do I need two ESTA's.

I would phone the US embassey hotline, they are very helpful. You get through tho the department in Scotland.

Went through this myself for a student visa in December, any probs i just rang them and they sorted it. Well apart from having my application turned down at the Embassey

Looks like a local rate number, will give them a call after I check the code.

hello i recently went to nyc and the way the esta form reads is you will have to fill in two as it asks your destination and why your travelling there and i had to fill in another esta form when i was on the plane because the esta computer isnt up and running yet which i found wierd considering it gives you a certificate type code hope this helps

No probs, once spent all night phoning numbers (here and US) because id filled a form out with my birth date wrong! I did the conventional dd/mm/yyyy and you prob know how the americans do it.

Out of interest, is this ESTA thing needed for anytrip to the US? If you know, how long can they last for? (im thinking its 90 days, then proper visa is needed?)

Didnt see this post, think thats confirms youll need another.

On my old visa i needed proof of the college i was attending/living at. Had to have all new paper work when i changed colleges because it was another location (1 hour down the road) So makes sense you will need one ESTA per location you stay at.

Found the below out - Looks like the one ESTA can be used for the trips, just need to update it with the info for each trip after i have been, thanks for all your help chaps

ESTA Update

All travelers entering the United States under the Visa Waiver Program by air or sea must have an approved and up-to-date ESTA Travel Authorization. This has been a requirement since January 12, 2009. After you have applied and received your ESTA Travel Authorization number, you must update your file before each U.S. entry. You can update you Travel Authorization multiple times, but you should not apply for a new Travel Authorization unless you have a new passport, the circumstances around your Visa Waiver eligibility has changed or your current Travel Authorization has expired. A Travel Authorization is normally valid for two years. Each traveler must make sure that their own Travel Authorization is updated before departure.

Sure am, updated my Visa just now.

I think you are able to stay within the US for up to 90 days on the tourist Visa Waiver programme

Best to check with the US embassy first though.

I just came back from Vegas and they never even checked these ESTA forms.. we still had to fill in the same green and white forms.
Airline said they were not working yet

This is interesting as I thought they were valid for two years or less if your passport expires. Did mine last year, but will have to check if they are still valid for this year.
