flat battery

Default flat battery

having problems with the battery not holding charge, less than a year old, my old battery was doing the same which is why i got a new one.. not drove my car in 2 days now its flat, not enough charge to start the car...

anyone any ideas why

Classic tracker fault, it's internal battery packs up, so the unit draws its supply direct from the cars battery. Get it checked out buddy. Oh wait, you're a signing on dole monkey aren't you.... got a multimeter?? i can show you how to measure the cars current draw.

The earlier Trackstar had a nasty habit of not going into 'sleep' mode so it kept drawing too much current from the battery. You need to connect an amp. meter to check the at rest current draw.

no idea how to do the checks guys.... how can i find out if the tracker battery is dead

You need a multimeter with amp reading on it first.

You can get them from Halfords to a local motorfactors. If you have any local auto-electrical places, they can test for a drain easy but with the multimeter, you can find the cause of the drain.

You switch it to Amps, move the lead on the multimeter into the amps socket. Disconect the battery neg lead and put one test lead on the battery lead, the other on the battery post.

If this snow isnt about or traffic isnt bad, could do yeah. Are close to M60, crown point exit etc?
