How hard is it to put wide wheels on a classic?
As above im looking into putting some 18x8.5 or 18x9's slamming it negative camber, despoilered etc etc, but was wondering how much work would be involved to getting them to fit?
ie spacers, arch work stuff like. I've seen its done many times on the blob eyes just never on the classics.
Cheers in advance Matt

arches would need to be rolled and you would defo need camber adjustment top mounts and also camber bolts for that bit extra.
you would need the right et so that you dont hit the struts. and a solid set of coilovers. and tyres would need a little strech on them
i cant see it being easy

Yeah goes without saying deffo coilovers with adjustable mounts, arch work i reckon 8.5/9j i would stretch on 215/35/18's or 225/40/18's summut like that.
My bodyshop are dub specialists so they fit wide rims and stuff like that all day long.

18*7.5 wheels with 215*35*18 tyres fit classics without arch rolling etc.
Why would you want to run 8.5 or 9 with 215 rubber on them? Would the tyre even fit the wheel?
I know a chap on here is running Rota Torque on his classic so I imagine you can get 5*100 without a problem. Torque Drift in the size you're suggesting I'm not so sure about. Try rarerims who should be able to advise.

215's on a 8.5 will fit but slightly stretched, im waiting for a call back to see if they will make me a set of torque drift series in 5x100, 8.5x18. Other than that its buy the 5x114 and have them machined

You have to use 5x100 to 5x112 adapters and use PCD bolts.

The spacers have studs pressed into them and bolt into the original holes of the hubs. Then you just use your nomal nuts to attach the wheel.
They're the same as these but he'll make them to the thickness you need and change the pcd
