Elvington Race Track and Circuit Information for Car and Bike Track Days

Dont know about Elvington, most trackdays require you to bring your license MOT and insurance, Dont know if helmets are available to hire either

Elvington is great fun, plenty of run off and unless you let the excitement get the better of you the worst you'll do is murder a couple of cones!

Book in advance here.

Helmets can be hired on the day.

The surface is VERY abrasive so keep an eye on your tyres.

Your car will undergo a static noise test before you go out on track. The limit is 98db, if you fail the test then you won't be allowed out....BE WARNED!

Take the time out to hire an instructor for 20 minutes, it'll only cost you £20 and it's worth every penny.

Above all enjoy yourself, that's what it's all about!

Hi Chris,

the WYIOC often play out at Blyton in Lincolnshire, as a club we are able to be more "relaxed" about noise issues, within reason.....

P.S. Works out at around £40 per car (usually).

Another thing to be aware of when tracking your Scoob is the issue of possible fuel surge. Never run on track with less than 1/4 tank and better 1/2 tank to avoid fuel starvation on right hand corners where the fuel all slops to the left hand side of the tank and fuel pickup is lost. Risks engine damage through detting on lean mixture.

Also be aware that track fuel consumption is much higher than road use. My 03STi does about 6 mpg around Elvington. Don't be alarmed but do either plan a trip into York at lunchtime for some V power or bring a couple of jerry cans full.

Chris, YHPM.

Elvington is ok but you should head over to Bedford with the Car there is a Open Pit Lane day there this Friday and it is just £75

Elvington is ok but it will ruin a set of types at least Bedford is a "proper" track and you will even get free tuition etc . The chap doing tuition there is index the day is run by Opentrack Unique Track Events - Welcome to Opentrack far more fun than a airfield .
