Up pipe cat ???

Default Up pipe cat ???

Hi all, anyone know if the MY97 turbo 2000 has a cat in the up pipe ? Im planning on fitting a de-cat downpipe an wondererd if this pre-cat in the up pipe would still get me through the m.o.t ?

No cat in up-pipe. To get through MOT would need to leave in down-pipe cat, but removing centre cat is probably ok.

Cheers dnc, just thought there was some kind of pre-cat on em. maybe its the newer cars.

Yep, up-pipe cat on new-age wrx only. You could always get a sports cat d/p, v little difference to decat and is MOT friendly. I have one on mine and never had any problems.

Cheers mate, might have a look round for a sport-cat. Have you tryed a full decat, as a mate has one on his standard uk turbo and gets some superb pops and bangs, and even the odd flame when at full chat ? Do the sports-cats do the same ?
