Default WRX SL - No Burble

Hi Guys,

New to the forums - Looking at buying my first Subaru at the moment. Went out and test drove an 07 plate Impreza WRX SL (bug eye).

Very nice car - everything was clean and tidy.

The only thing was there was no burble from the exhaust - was as quiet as a normal car.

Is this due to the car being an SL?

Cheers in advance.

Jon.

No.
As standard the cars are quiet as a mouse. But stick an aftermarket exhaust on there and it'll release the burble.

SL is no different to any WRX except it has full leathers and sunroof.

Were the SL's not a jdm import if so they have the different headers compared to the uk cars so loose that flat for burble

Thats spot on, I've got an MY07 WRX SL. Electric sunroof and heated leather seats. Now with full de-cat and STI Genome backbox, definitely burbles.

I may be mistaken but I think you also get extra sound deadening in the Sl as per the Spec D. Doesn't help the cause when in the car, but as said a decent after market exhaust will get the sound you are after irrespective.
