Im told the latest carjacking gag involves placing a cone in the road to block the way for a car. So car drives along, sees cone in the way. Stops, gets out to move it(probably leaves keys in car and engine running) - then rude boys jump out the hedge and rob your wheels.
Nasty, but apparently its already claimed a few victims.

tonights 'evening standard' in london was reporting that a BMW318Ci was taken in Woolwich using this idea...
just be street wise. there are lots of things in life where someone will try to con you, so just be cynical and smart. I'm sure this stuff happens all the time but now with forum like this we hear about it in internet time.
