Default Remapping a hawkeye

Fitted my only mod to the hawkeye last week, a Scoobyworld Afterburner backbox and centre section.

Looking for get JGM to remap it now. What figures should I expect from the remap? bhp and torque.

Also, would my remapped WRX be able to keep pace with a standard newage STI?

Why not ask JGM?

I'd guess 270-odds of each metric.

a remapped WRX will eat a 100% std STi for breakfast whether that be the 2.0STi or the 2.5 STi.

You will be looking at around 265 ish bhp and 320 ish lb/ft with the two std cats in - they are fairly restrictive but the biggest issue is the small turbo and that really runs out of puff beyond 5000 rpm.

The hawkeye wrx is the easiest wrx to mod beyond 300bhp as it is just a turbo change - stick on a vf43 and decat and will hit around 350bhp & 400 lb/ft.

My hawkeye wrx with a full decat and panel filter produced 277bhp / 345 lbft. With a vf43 , sti8 tmic, fuel pump and plugs produced 342 bhp / 385 lbft both times mapped by jgm.
There's no cat in up pipe.

Also you will need to upgrade the brakes as standard are sh*t.
Don't give it more power if you can't stop it

Have got 284/360 out of decated hawkeye - works lovely but the turbo is a bit small for the job at above 5000.

I got my hawkeye mapped by JGM

283bhp 345lb/ft of torque

The good thing about the TD04 is it comes on boost quickly with virtually no lag but yes does run out off puff after 5000 rpm

The brakes are not s**t just get a set of feroda ds2500 pads

Excuse my ignorance on this one, but is that not slightly less bhp and around the same torque as a standard Hawkeye STi?

Question rather than statement.

Yes - very similar but delivered in different ways.

The wrx with the low down torque and the 5 speed box will be much quicker to 60mph.

Yes the STi has a VF43 turbo - the wrx a TD04

Yes the Sti have different turbos. The Hawkeye STI has a VF43. A standard hawk sti has 290 lb/ft torque a remapped WRX near 350 lb/ft. The hawk WRX is 85kg lighter.

5 speed gearbox also helps acceleration

The brakes are sh*t, the disc's are to small and can't dissipate the heat fast enough, which cause brake fade. The caliper is fine, I just used the Godspeed big disc conversion, they stop better than my m8's blob Sti.

Cheers for all the info guys. Wow, didn't realise you could get so much from such little mods from a 2.5 litre

So is a vf43 the standard turbo you'd find in an STI?
If I fit one of these, what supporting mods would I need to fit as well?
Any idea how much they cost?

They are fairly hard to find at the moment but go for about £350 ish.

Aside from the decat exhaust a fuel pump would be a good idea but that would get you to around 340-350bhp and around 380lb/ft

The hawkeye wrx tmic is very good from my experience and they is marginal gain from changing to an STi tmic - better than previous wrx tmic's.

I assumed that panel filter had been done anyway.

Yes - 7 grade plugs would be wise

My wrx tmic became a restrictive factor at around 330bhp.

WRX + remap = must have. By the sounds of it. Likewise I wouldn't without doing the brakes first mind.

Or you could just get an STi and remap that with supporting mods to get an even better car
