Default Rubbish rear demister

The rear demister (the metal bits on the back window of my WRX 2007 Wagon) takes forever to clear the screen properly. Is this normal or does anyone have any ideas to improve its demisting performance ???

Thanks
Mr Wagon

Unlike a saloon anything you put in the load area is exposed to the car. If it's damp or the carpet gets wet then more moisture will build up in the car and the demist will take longer to work.

Have you had a load in the boot that's been particularly damp? See if the carpets are damp or if you have a leak.

Just a few suggestions.

As above, they are meant to clear light condensation or help to remove ice/frost from outside, or remove light condensation inside.

If the inside condensation is heavy, it WILL take forever to clear. Look for signs of leaks.

I had steaming up issues live in scotland (always raining here) but i find leave on the air con acts like a sort of dehumidifier been on now 2 and a half years. I set the air con to auto n only touch the temp n hardly ever use the rear demister only to clear the mirrors.

"clear the mirrors"?

Pah! Stop showing off. SOME of us don't have heated mirrors

My classic had VERY little in the way of "extras", even the cupholder was a blank

It NOW has a rear wash-wipe AND folding, (but not heated), mirrors.

We get that condensation here in the soft south too
