can i use any oil filter

Default can i use any oil filter

i want to change my oil but have no time to travel to my nearest subaru dealer can i use one from somewhere like halfords ?

Aye. Halfords are good quaility filters.

I normally fit nothing but standard from ebay, but needed service today so local bullseye is the 1 i just fitted says on the tin made in japan.

yep last two oil changes ive used the jap spec one from bullseye as i change oil every 4-5k anyway i think threre ok for that. if i was doing the 10k oil changes would probs use oem one.but had no problems with the bulleyes ones.

Yes and No:

Unipart or Blueprint filters are of good quality, as are Crossland.

Fram filters have a habit of varying (think they keep switching sources) and generally not as good IMO, can't comment on other brands as I haven't had the can opener on them

Generally speaking, they'll all do the job, but the paper used and valves on the poorer quality ones maybe inferior.

Original one for me always you don't have to go to a Subaru garage to get one just have a look at the usual places like Scoobyworld or Scooby Parts they do them.
