Default 2.2 Stroker Kits

Just looking on Sumo Power, and came across this set:
Cosworth Stroker Kit Subaru EJ20 (2.2L) with Forged Crank | Sumo Power | Subaru | IMPREZA GDB : 00/10 - 04/05 | The UK's Number 1 for japanese performance parts

How come no-one seems to use it? In theory surely it's better than a 2.1 stroker? Doesn't seem a bad price for all cosworth parts either.

Would that just slip straight in to a 2.0L block?

But it's actually only a 2.1, with a std. Subaru crank, maths.... simples.

Agree at that price it would be nice to have "Cosworth" on the parts list.

It is a 2123 stroker (using 92.5 pistons, less with 92.25 pistons), but like Jun and HKS they insist on calling it a 2.2. If they used their 81mm stroke billet crank with 92.5 pistons you would get 2177cc which would be close enough for a 2.2 in my book!

Why is it only a 2.1?

Lateral sell the stroker kits at £1600.

EDIT: answered my question there, lol.

Or you could buy one of our built 2.1 short motors for £2150 inc vat which uses the Nitrided 79mm OEM crank.

Not to forget that we can also sell you any Cosworth parts with a minimum 10% discount.

Could enginetuner use 81mm cranks and this kit then, and if so what sort of price difference would there be over your 2.1's you currently do?

Yes we could! The cost of the crank could add a fair bit I think, possibly another grand?

£1000+ for an extra 50cc is bonkers, you'd be better off using the money to source an EJ22T block for a 2.35.....

Think Manley do a forged crank, which should be a lot cheaper than a billet item.
