I dont care because i read something in the paper the other day about a star going supernova somewhere near us (in galactic terms) so where all going to die anyway.

That star *T Pyxidis* is 3,260 something light years away from us.. A light year is exactly what it's name suggest - its a year in earth's terms of traveling at the speed of light. And since nothing can travel faster than light, it will be at least 3,260 years before we see anything of that story, that is if something happens at all.
