Default gearbox an diff oil for uk my00 classic

hi guys can anybody recomend good oils for each of these please an how much of each. got cristmas off an want to get these done as i dont think they ever been done. cheers guys

Castrol Syntrex is the stuff to use, cant remember how much you need in the gearbox but the rear diff takes 0.8 litre

really thats cool i was expecting about 4 litre in the diff but read up the box takes up 3.5 to 4 litre. i will go for that but seen this
4L Rock Oil SS 75w/90 - Semi Synthetic Gear Oils on eBay (end time 08-Jan-10 12:51:00 GMT)
you think be any good an is semi synthetic the best choice

0.8 litre diff
4 litres gearbox
use castrol sytrax
over fill gearbox slightly to protect 3rd.

cheers for help lads i ended up buying 4 litre of castrol from halfords for box . was gonna get some for diff but sold out. where do u fill up an drain for the diff. is it easy job

There are 2 plugs on the rear of the diff case, pop your head under the rear bumper and you will see them. Top one for filling, bottom for draining. I use a 1/2" ratchet to undo them. They can be buggers to undo sometimes. Undo the top one first just to make sure you are able to get the new oil in! Be a bugger if you drain it and can't fill it back up.
