Default car wont start

car is turning over but not firing up. The battery has not been holding charge properly for the last 2 weeks. Could this be the cause of the problem? Just charging up my mitsubishi gto battery gonna try that on it see if thats any good.

What car and what year?

Is it one of those that need the clutch depressed to start it?
Or are you blipping the throttle first? keep away from the throttle until it fires
