I have a 96 sti import and have a problem with sever condensation in the boot
Anything that is in there is soden within 2days and started to get
rust in a few sections in the boot.
Can i put insulation of some sort on boot lid to prevent this.
Cheers.

Default boot

If you have taken the rear lights out and resealed the only other thing to do is get a new boot seal .

I had a water leak in the RB5 and it turned out to be a few different things. Mines was leaking mostly around the boot seal, so I'd look at the rubber boot seal first, but at £96 from Subaru its not cheap

Also causing problems was the seal around the petrol filler cap which had to be removed to be sealed up as well!!

The tail lights are also a common water leaking spot on the classics and have to be sealed up.

My mate's sti is also leaking water now and he thinks it may be comming from the rear window which could have been replaced at at time!!

Try all these things first, but be warned, it could be a long proccess trying to find the leak....strip out the boot and lay in it while someone hoses the rear end of the car and you mite find it, although sometimes water can look like its comming in at a certain spot but is maybe getting in somewhere totally different and flowing down

theres a wee black rubber plug in the spare wheel well of my 98 wagon. I took it out an most water that gathers there seems to drain out in normal driving. Not a solution but keeps excessive water at bay for me.

i just have condensation on the underside of the bootlid though!the carpet is dry and under the spare wheel is all dry! i have striped the whole boot out and got a mate to spray with a hose for a good 15mins but no sign of any leaks!

could it just be the heat differance outside to inside??
