Default BIG SMASH with a happy ending. a A NEW CAR

my trustee nissan almera has done one to the car graveyard in the sky after a rear end shunt at around 40mph both mrs and i were hurt, managed to get whiplash claims which made up for the measley amount the insurance gave me for the car well any way as some of you know i already own this spec c

which has gone under the knife for time attack next year, you can see the full build here
https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...ack-build.html
so anyway ive wanted rid of the old nissan workhorse now ive got a different job so the hunt was on. had a budget in mind and after owning many subarus, parting with cash would be hard unless i found something that i liked as much as my current spec c when i first bought that. well i looked at everything rx8 pz , 350 z , m3 , alfa 147gta, new focus(no way will i pay that for a ford) to name a few and after two weeks and many test drives i just couldnt find anything i was happy with and when your splashing that sort of dollar its got to be on something that you REALLY want.
so at the point of defeat my mate sent me a pic of a suitable candidate, whilst he was hunting around for his own car when he saw this and e mailed me saying you have to see this evo mintest ive seen!
and sent me this pic

so i looked into it and to cut a long story short he was right as it was the mintest evo that i have ever seen FQ300 MR, 28k on the clock, serviced religiously at ralliart then mitsubishi every 3k with dealer stamps, no panels or respray anywhere, about 18 stone chips on front bumper, interior as new, full cambelt service done today even though it was good for another 10 k, brand new pads and tyres and it is totally standard, clutch feels like new and gear change totally smooth and very positive, no whining clunking not even a piece of trim was rattling. it felt a million miles from the also mint standard evo 6 makkinen i owned a few years back. it was that good i got it there and then pick it up tuesday, it was slightly more than i was looking to pay but for this level of quality i happily stumped up the little extra heres a few more pics

so far Xtreme uk who are selling me the ca have been brilliant they really have ill post some more pics and a review of their services and the drive home tuesday night. MINT

nice mate

my mate just bought a fq-320 or 340 cant remeber on a 54 plate, its a lovely car, same miles as yours but heavily stone chipped on front bumper, and slightly on the bonnet

enough to merit a respray anyway

urs seems much cleaner under the bonnet tho,

steamed cleaned and laquered engine bay?

Very nice, the way an Evo should look. Nice to know you haven't given up on the Scooby either.

ill never give up on the scoob to much has gone into it, hopefully will see many time attack seasons to come, its nice to have a decnt road car( for the first time in a while) and a brutal race car, best of both worlds, the evo will be good to do the odd track day in aswell.

Lovely looking EVO. I'm just making my way through your TA build thread.

*Off to get some whiplash for an 650bhp build too*

You're not bloody wrong. An hour down the pan and a slightly bored g/f asking if i've finished yet. Was really wanting to see the final pics after the first few pages, then it started to get a little tetchy and eeked out. lOOking forward to the final product.

Those thinking about reading it should wait. There's not much to see. Skip to page 12.

650 bhp time attack builds take time the whole car virtually needs rebuilding. you look at all the good projects in the projects section have many pages, the aim is to show as much of the build as possible so the quality can be backed up with pictures at every stage
