Are scoobs good at Rally cross then ?

There's no technical reason why either shouldn't be competitive in that environment. It's probably no more complicated than that none of the top rallycross runners have decided to build a car based on one.

Thought the same the other day when the British 2009 season was being reviewed on the TV. There was a Black classic in one of the rounds, think it made one of the finals.
Edit to add Steve Hill was doing quite well in his Evo.

There are two Imprezas running in the MSA British Rallycross Championship at present. The black car you are talking about is Simon Hortons classic Impreza:
He's got a pretty good website on his car and team at:
Horton Racing
This car was built recently (and, from what I understand, on a fairly tight budget); it did OK last year, though its reliability seemed a bit hit and miss, but when the car was going he was right on the tail of the lead cars. The last time I saw Simon Horton posting (on the Ten Tenths website) he seemed to indicate that a bit more funding would be going into reliability rather than the initial build next year!
The other Impreza used in the MSA BRC is Kevin McCann's. Again its a classic. He's been using the car for a fair few years and I think it maybe a little on the tired side. Again, going by his posts on Ten Tenths, the last I heard about the car was that it was going to receive a new engine (and possibly transmission?) over the winter and be good to go for 2010, so hopefully that'll be competitive next year as well.
(This is a fairly old picture of the car as it recently gained a slatted WRC style spoiler)
As for Evo's Steve Hill has been using Evo's in the MSA BRC for a few years now. His current car seems to be brilliant... when its going properly. Still, rallycross is a hard sport on cars, so its understandable when things break a lot!
Team and car info can be found at:
Steve Hill Motorsport
There was a Subaru that competed in the Rallycross Superprix at Croft this year (I can't remember the drivers name) and came third - on his first event! The driver indicated during the TV coverage that he would be putting more money into the car and returning next year (I assume in the Open Championship). David Binks also uses an Evo (7 I think?) in the MSA and Open Championship, though the car doesn't seem as competitive as Steve Hills.
One of the drivers in the Belgium championship uses a newage (blobeye) Scoob, but his name is too unpronoucable to remember!
I love the Impreza (or I wouldn't be on this site!), but it does seem to be the short wheelbase cars (like the Fiesta ST) that are best suited to rallycross. Having said that I'm sure that if a factory team turned to building an Impreza rallycross car, they could produce something as competitive as the Fiesta's et al.

It was the RS200 that first drew me to a rallycross event and its still my fave rallycross car. Having said that *confession time* the Fiesta ST is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me - I really like it, even in its standard road going form...
(I'm off to hang my head in shame now!)

As I understand it Pat will be racing in the BRC again next year (behind the wheel of a Fiesta ST - hurrah!), Liam will be participating in as many rounds of the BRC as possible, I assume using his Fiesta.
I don't know whats going to happen to the Doran RS200 next year, it was borrowed for the last round of 2009 (by Ollie O’Donovan) but I assume this was a temporary loan - be awesome if O'Donovan did the whole 2010 season in it though!
Just for you m@t STImulation...
