Default insurance help!!

just been looking for qoutes for a 2002 prodrive sti and they are coming back astronomical!!! tried a-plan and they wouldnt even insure it due to the post code. anyone know of anyone other reasonable insurers, my details are

28 yr old male
held licence for 10 yrs
no convictions
no claims made
4 yrs NCB
car kept on drive overnight
poscode is an OL11

had a renewal through for next year on the 2002 wrx i just sold and that would have only been £1000, anyone been through a similar predicament?

jesus!! when i knocked the pensioner over in april (not my fault btw- police stated no further action) my renewal with prudential came in at £3700 !!! () a plan was £1280, and after the 6 months had elapsed and the "file" was closed it went to £900 protected ncb and protected excess as well!! . is the OL post code oldham then i take it? is it really much worse than liverpool (huyton as well) ?
