Default HELP !!!!!!!!

Well ........ went to get the car out of the garage yesterday and oh bugger I've got a puncture . Start taking the wheel off but the lock stud will not budge. In fact it breaks the socket for removing it .

Got the car file out found the locking stud details and rang the local Subaru dealer, gave them the code and bless them they had one for me today.

Tried it tonight and it will not budge the stud and has started to round off the stud and new tool. I've slacked off the other 3 wheels in case of further disaster but does anyone know how to get these studs off. Do I start drilling ???? HELP !!!!!!!!!

lots and lots off wd40 and leave to soak. then shock it.

If it didnt budge and it was mine it would be getting a socket beat over it and removed that way.

when i had to remove all my 4 locking wheel nuts as when I purchased the car the guy didnt put it in the glove box, I used one size socket smaller and you can knock it on with a hammer gently, just enough to get grip and it should hopefully go, didnt even damage my socket but be prepared to buy a new socket as not always that lucky, hope this helps u

looks like the socket is the way to go. Will try it in the morning and let you know. Thanks both

It also SOMETIMES helps to well-tighten the other four nuts BEFORE attempting to remove the locking one: I always do that, or at least TRY the locking one FIRST, then tighten the others if it appears stiff.

Tightening the other four may just take some tension off the locking one

Company called laser do locking wheel nut removers cost £10ish from machine mart there a socket with a reverse flute so as you undo the nut the flute bites in ,irwin also do em used befor work brill handy if you ever round anything off aswell

used it loads of times,and works a treat.

If theyre OEM locking nuts then they will have a hardened spinner (depending on year: they changed in 2003 I believe). If theyre earlier type McGards then you can knock an old socket on, as suggested, or use a special tool. A 'Gator' might do the job too, but itd be better if you soaked the nut in a mixtue of gearbox oil and diesel overnoght, which ever route you take.

Impact gun and if that don't work impact gun with a old socket hammered on to it!

Update !!!!! sorry haven't been around to post but basiacally I hammered a a socket on and bingo..... it came off.
