03 JDM STI vs 05 Type uk STI
Hi,
I may have the chance to do a p/ex for a 03 jdm sti for my 05 uk sti.
Mine has nearly 25,000 miles, the JDM has 44,000.
Just wondering if any of you were in the same boat, would you do a swap and how much would you want along with the 03 to swap your 05??
Also, another possibility is a 00 V-limited sti, is this strictly a 2-door with dccd and about 280bhp in standard tune?

If the 03 is a bug eye then I wouldn't swap, but that is just personal preference.
I love classics but they really are getting old now, so there a few good ones left.
What is wrong with your current car? Why not upgrade it? If I was to change I would want either a very special classic or a completely different car to be honest.

The only advantage of the 05 uk car over the 03 jdm is the geometry setting and slightly better dccd configuration, all the rest favours the jdm (well servicing is 6 monthly on the jdm)

The 03 is a blob, with 74,000kms on it. Apparently just had T-belt done.
Bar the 05 being a little wider track the 03 is prob a nicer car isn't it?
higher rev-limit, twin scroll, quick steering rack?
I want to down grade as recently I've started doing a lot more mileage. And 100-120 quid a week on juice is getting a bit sore on the pocket. And at that, I'm still driving carefully, and having to think about whether I need to travel somewhere or not.
The idea would b to take the 00 V-limited or the blob and money my way, an buy a cheap diesesal run about.

Oh that makes sense. I´d go for the blobeye. I´ve got one and its a great second car and you don´t feel too guilty having it stuck on the drive most of the time. I´d be wanting at least 3 to 4 grand to make it worth your while though, and you can pick up a nice golf IV tdi with the change!

Thats exactly what i was thinking.
I'm in ireland, so was thinkin 5-6k euro to change down to 03 blob.
With that i could buy an 02-03 tdi van for brining the MX'er around the odd weekend!
