Default new mods for throttle response

Hello from a newbie!

I’m getting my car back tomorrow and I’m beside myself with excitement.

I’m not after any particular figures (so you won’t insult me or anything) I just want a quick road car that has instant available power.
So, a sporting wager .. what figures you reckon this will yeild;

It’s a classic '99 JDM,
vf29,
6 speed, helix autosport clutch and 4.3kg flywheel,
Decat, uppipe and 2.5” exhaust, h+s tubular headers,
heat lagging plus turbo jacket
Gfb underdrive pulleys
Hyperflow tmic
Walbro fuel pump
Fuel press reg
440cc injectors
parallel fuel lines
sfs turbo (and other) hoses
it already had sti internals and lightened bits and bobs
I’ll be doing the map with vpower, no additives.

Graph and pics tomorrow!

Chris.

I think you will get around 318bhp, not sure what jdm you have though lol, is it an sti or wrx?
You have a few restrictions there, the 2.5 inch exhaust may well be your downfall, and don't think because you have sti internals (unless they are new age) they will be stronger, the rods are the same in the classics (uk/jdm/sti) engines and they are weak
Still the 6 speeder is a bit of overkill but should give you that bit more top end (jdm or uk box?)

Well... it was a 99 wrx that had a shedload of sti upgrades at the factory. i can list them if you like.. not quite sure why the guy didn't just buy an sti!

yeah the 2.5 and the vf29 i thought are maybe the weakest links in the chain.

my plan was to sort out all supporting mods then next year stick on a vf34, 550cc and a 3".

and tony yeah, i've had the 6speed a while now, just put it on the list because the extra weight will contribute. it's a jdm 05 sti box i think.

sorry but i'm going to say 300 as you dont know what this car started with!!(220-230)
it may have sti internals but!!!!!!!its still a wrx and will weigh a bit..
but then depends who maps it and if its a safe map....
and i'll bet £1.50...

hi gc8-r

its a good point, i would actually like to know how much more it weighs than the equivelant sti.

it has alloy boot, bonnet and wings, alloy suspension arms + bilsteins.. what else makes the difference on an sti?

i want to do a few more deletes as well to try and help with weight. done Air conditioning so far. keeping my interior though

£1.50? you're on.

a top mount has to be the worst place for power runs on the rollers surely, the air will just be gushing over the top of it
