STI7 or EVO6 RS2
#1
I am selling my Lotus Exige as having 3 kids I don't get much to use it enough.
I have a P1 as my everyday car and I am either going to get an STI7 and modify the P1 TO make a wicked weekend and track car and use the STI every day or get an evo6 rs2 and mod that for weekend and track use and keep the P1 for everyday use.
Which would you choose?
Cheers Andy

andrew - i have a 340r and an EVO. In short, if you like the Exige then you WILL like the EVO RS2 .... its much closer to it in terms of tactility, responsiveness & razor sharp feel than the P1. Without the AYC you have greater control for the 90 degrees stuff ;-) and its more progressive :-)
To mod an rs2 real nice for the track though you will need around 5-7K for AP brakes/suspension/struts/bushes/350bhp/strengthend internals ..... well worth it though. I was planning to do this myself but will be tracking just the 340r now this year.

I must agree with jackal....
The EVO RS II will be a much better track toy than a P1.
The STI7 will give you a nice composed yet capable family saloon.
Which do you want FUN or Practicality?
DO FUN!!!!

Definately the STi!! A true car for the road. And guaranteed not to shake the fillings out of your teeth on those cross country dashes!
(But I'm bias - I'm selling my 6 month old STi7!)
See 'For Sale' Forum if youre interested.
Cheers!

Must admit that I am swaying in favour of the evo but have a test drive booked in an STI tomorrow.
Had an evo6 gsr previously as an everyday car but much prefer to drive the P1 as a daily driver.
Cheers for the advice

STI7 makes a great everyday road car, suspension is "soft" enough so that it does not irritate you when you're not in the mood.
Much better than say a Ferrari in terms of practicality - you'll only use the latter for weekend escapades, and you don't want to be parking that at supermarkets!
Never owned a Lotus or Evo, so I can't speak from that angle. I do know others who use their Evo7's as everyday tools tho without complaints, so it can't be that bad.
