20 mins to unlock car by the button on the key
fitted a new battery into my key but still takes about 20 mins to lock and unlock, could it be the key itself or does it have a transmitter on the car that could be at fault and would the key need to be programmed.

What model car, and what alarm? And did you really sit there pressing the button for 20 minutes without giving up?
The Sigma M30 is very prone to radio interference which stops it working, I believe there may be a modification available which re-routes the antenna to improve things. Try calling your Subaru dealer, it's something they're aware of (in theory...)

Any radio masts in the area ?
Don't recall what alarm it was, but had someone visit the house, and we had to tow him 50m down the road, before the fob would work. Thinking about it, I'm sure a friend had the same issue with his 22b when he visited, and that did have a Sigma.
Mark.

as above, you need to take it to subaru and they will fit the mod, happened to my p1 and depending on where i parked it the alarm fob would not work. as said it is to do woth the frequency that sigam used, subaru fit a steal plate over the sensor and re programe the alarm fob. if i remeber right i think it cost me about £80, subaru are well aware of the problem but never re-called the cars to change it.

the key pad is true but only if yo knw what the code is, as most people change it to to something they can remember and then forget to pass that on come the time that they sell up
