Default STi 04 steering wheel into my00 classic?

Anyone fitted a newage STi silver faced steering wheel into a classic my00?

One thing that concerns me is are the connectors the same or will it be a case of cutting wires and soldering them?

I've got a WR1 wheel in my classic 98. It had already been modded, the wiring connectors need doing, plus you need to get the spinner with the new wheel.

None of it's rocket science though

ALWAYS disconnect battery and leave for 30 minutes before disconnecting

You will need a new spinner unless you can make your old one fit in, also you will have to change the air bag plugs as these are differend cannot remember about the horn though.

Don't forget to set the old wheel at dead centre by moving the car back, or forward in a straight line BEFORE removing the old wheel.

Makes fitting the new one in the centre easier.
Best of luck.

Oh, and forgot to say: once you have loosened the nut holding the wheel in place, unscrew it, but leave it screwed onto the steering column about three full turns while loosening the wheel.

This will prevent your face getting a nasty shock when the wheel comes loose suddenly and connects with your nose
