300 miles from a tank! any good ?
Filled the scoob right up last week to see how much I could get out of it. I put in £60.00 in and got 310 miles from it with all types of driveing motorway, town and a bit of fast road.
Can anyone work out what that equates to in MPG cheers ,Oh car is a 2006 sti with full de cat and safe map if that helps

its easy mate
all u need to do is
the amount of fuel in litres
soo say its 57 litres divide 57 by 4.54 that will give u the amount of fuel in gallons then divide 310 miles by the number in gallons and hey presto ur mpg figure
so in short
Fuel In Litres/4.54 = Fuel in Gallons
Miles done/Gallon figure. = Miles Per Gallon.
as ruff guess that about 27mpg what uve done there

Above calculations are correct, but you need to have a starting point ~ which you haven't above. It doesn't matter how much fuel you had to put in before you started the "test" ~ what matters is how much you have to put in after the test.
================
1. Fill your tank up (to the brim if you want really exact results - to eliminate differences between pumps auto-switch-off feature)
2. Run for however many miles you fancy (full tank / half tank / up to the shops and back)
3. Fill the tank up again.
The amount you put in to take it back to the "brim full" datum point is the same as the amount of fuel you have used to travel those miles.

I was getting about 300 to a tank, but these days I'm getting more. Driving style / journey is the same, the biggest change has been colder air - not sure if that makes sense but feels like that. Since it got colder recently, I've made 330 to a tank fairly easily - maybe because colder denser air = more power so using a little less right foot maybe.
Oh yeah, V-Power only

if ur going to drive round trying to get 30 or more to the gallon then it must be so boring ,the idea of a subaru is a fun to drive car ,if u want good mpg buy a nissan micra ,sorry if this is not to everyones taste but the idea of driving around trying to stay off boost just to save fuel just makes it pointless having a scooby

Yeah I agree with those on the 300 mile mark, I'm currently getting 275 from a tank on my 6 mile run to and from the station on weekdays and a bit of fun at the weekend. I'm certain 300+ in mine is easily achieveable on a motorway run. BTW - Im in an 06 Hawk STI with PPP.

I'm still on my 1st tank of V power after picking my 53 WRX up last week. the fuel gauge needle is just over the halfway mark and i've done 100 miles of being sat in traffic and 2 quick B road blasts since i filled up. So i should see in 220 miles from the tank which is what i thought it would be.
I had a Leon Cupra (810bhp) before my scooby and struggled to get 300 miles out of a tank with the same driving pattern.
So overall am quite pleased with the return!!

I got an 02 wrx with ppp and always run on v power the most i have ever had from a full to the brim tank was 286miles but then the petrol light was only just flickering. I doesn't take it any lower.
Yet my old 406 3.0 i could happily get 320 per tank every week on normal driving and over 400 if driving motorway as i did going to hull and back one day. I remeber when i first bought it and droove it hard for a tank and done 60 litres of fuel in 172 miles!

In my 05 sti i can just about get 250 per tank, and thats with a mix of motorway at 70mph (70%) and then B road at 60mph for the other 30%. Thats a run of 140 miles i do in 1 go, twice a week, with hardly and traffic.
Thats on 98 octane. What octane is V-power?
I'm a bit dissapointed as i thought with that driving i'd get 28-30, but am only getting 22-24mpg.
If i drive it hard at all for even half the time i'm straight down to about 180miles on a tank. (generally 53-55 litres)
Thats with a de-cat down pipe and remap to 1.4 bar.

I'm with others... mixed driving this is average I think.
I would also say i usually get less than the 57 litres guessed at in the maths at the start from red light to full tank. When i worked mine out (using the red light to full then red light to full method it was actually nearer 30mpg which i was quite happy with considering its been mapped etc.
Tend to get more miles from Tesco 99 than V-Power though.
