Default 30000 MILE SERVICE COSTS???

Hi folks,
Got myself a MY06 Hawkeye STi, 8500 miles on the clock but I appreciate the need for the full service...wear and tear rubber hose degrading etc etc...What kind of figure should I expect to pay from a main dealer...Am living up in Dundee at the mo....

Thanks lads and lasses....

Its a big one, they change most of the fliuds ie engine oil, diff oil, gear box oil, coolant, spark plugs, air filter.
Cant remember exact cost but I think its between £350-£400, why not try a specialist as your out of warranty now

I paid just over £200 at a local specialist and they used all the best oils etc but didn't need the spark plugs or filter as have put after market parts in already.

I paid £300 at my local specialist for 30K service on my hawkeye WRX. Subaru wanted £550.

Some warranty work was identified at the service and was sorted by subaru without question so it won't affect your warranty mate.

Fella you don't have to use the dealer, all you must do is, make sure you use the recommeded parts and fluids then a "specialist" should be fine.

Is there really no value in having a full Subaru Service history ?? And can I assume a specialist will stamp your book (obviusly with their stamp).

If this is the case can anyone recommend a good specialist in the Essex area that might be able to do the Service, and maybe give it a dyno run as well ??

Full Subaru service history is good for standard cars at resale time, as people who don't know about Subarus will often see it as a plus. Enthusiasts and those who know a bit about cars will know a specialist history is as good, if not sometimes better, than a dealer stamp. I say it is good for standard cars as not many people who know little about cars will buy a modified car.

OK heeded the advise from those on here, and have opted to get this done by a Scooby Specialist. I've got the car booked into Torque of the Devil in Uxbridge this Sat for full 30K & Power Run for less than the Subaru main delaer quote.

Tis not as local I know but I used these guys many times before and they definatly know their stuff, plus they have one of the best Dyno's aroound imo

Got my quote from Cheam Motors for £350.00 inc VAT etc...

All the others I looked at were looking for North of £400, with one "specialist" looking for over £500.

I am just confirming that what I think is a 30,000 mile service (all fluids, filters, and spark plugs) is what the dealer thinks it is. Although with their labour at £90/hour, I don't think I will be getting any "work" done there!

I was quoted just over £300 for my STI. This isn't including the SIDC discount and i won't need the air filter changing either.

Coolant isn't changed on the 30k service - just inspected.
