Question Misfire, plugs?coil pack confusuion

Hi all,

The scoob (2000UK classic) has developed misfire under load. I'm happy with checking and change the plugs but after searching I'm confused about coil packs. Does my Scoob have them?

Plug leads go to ignition coil on manifold?

What else could be the cause, leads have been replaced the Magnor ones earlier this year.

Many thanks in advance.

Will be interested to see how you get on with this problem, as our track car MY00 UK 2000 Classic has the same problem...

We've Changed the plugs & maf so far, plus it's been remapped and it's still there!!

The coil pack on our car is on the top of the inlet manifold (as you've said) and it's one big unit with silicone plug leads, instead of individual units with wire leads as on the import WRX's.

The only other things to change would be the leads and the coil pack, but don't want the expense if it's not gonna fix it!!

Where does your misfire occur, as ours is around 4-5k rpm on WOT.

just sat in mine and rev to 4k and can feel the det, not big byut you know when you can feel what is not right/normal.

I will change plugs when I get them this week. Checked the leads again, no damage to them.
Will see where this goes

I once had this on a 98 UK car, it turned out to be a defective plug lead, caused a misfire under load around 4000rpm.

Took the dealership three goes to diagnose it, eventually found by someone from IM visiting.......
