Due to circumstanses at work, I'm currently thinking of moving to Montreal in Canada from the UK.
Howerver, one of the things I will miss in Canada is my MY93 WRX. I know that in North America Subaru import the 2.5RS Impreza, but how does this compare to a WRX?
I know that views are subjective and all that, but has anyone driven a WRX and 2.5 RS? If so, what was most noticeably different between the two cars (acceleration, suspension feel for example?).
Cheers for any replys,
Dave

The WRX will pound the crap outta the Imp RS - trust me, I own one.. Now, that being said, it's still a great car - I've done the standard N/A tuning do-dads, and it's responded very nicely.. First off, buy new tires - that's the worst part of the car.. I certainly have no regrets about purchasing my RS, and would recommend the car to anyone - just don't expect it to be a WRX..
You know they'll be selling the WRX in Canada in about 3 weeks, right? Sure, it's the new body style, but whaddya gonna do? The nice thing is that people are desperately trying to sell their RS's, and are letting them go for anywhere from $13.5k to $17k - about 7 to 9 thousand pounds..

I have driven both - 2000 2.5RS and a my00 UK version (demo car in Norwich).
The 2.5RS is nowhere near the same car. You will want to look at the new WRX.
The petrol prices here are a third the price - but driving roads and police are cr4p!

Cheers for the replies guys.
I feared that the RS would be no match for the WRX
Drove my Dad's 2.0GL Impreza last weekend and wasn't impressed - I was constantly waiting for the turbo to kick in at around 3,500 rpm, but of course it never did!!
That said, I guess the inherent handling is still there, so it won't all be bad. I assume the MY01 WRX will retail at around CN$35 - 40-ish?
