Hi guys

Is there a way to identify the different blocks / heads used on various Subarus and is there a chart or something listing these?

I have been offered a new EJ25 longblock complete which i was thinking could be used for a classic STI EJ25 build, but wondering how to identify the differences between the Old legacy engines and the new 2.5 sti engines etc. I know some blocks are closed / semi closed / open deck, so can these be identified from a manufacturer number or ident. Smae with the heads, how do you identify an STI head over a UK head?
