Just puchased a 52 plate bugeye WRX with a goosed engine, I have change plenty of engines in my time reno,vauxhall,ford so shouldn't be a prob fitting new one (already sourced 54 plate WRX motor low miles) what mods would be recommended whilst engine is out ie manifolds turbo up pipe? any advice welcome.

Any thing you know about changing engines wont matter mate i thought same first one i did, technically there are only really 6 bolts holding it in tho,

And all depends what budjet you have mate

Looking at stainless headers will the ones on ebay listed wrx sti fit my wrx? Will I get the claimed 25bhp? looking at a full de cat & turbo up pipe aswell.

Sell the wrx lump and put it towards a 2.5 sti and before fitting upgrade the pistons, con rods, and head studs then fit it now you will have a built engine capable of 450 / 450 with the supporting that you can fit at a later date. Personaly I would think that the cash spent now would be better spent on the engine upgrades to build a stronger engine with morefuture potential

worth checking replacing clutch ,spigot bearing ,plugs,as stated manifold and up pipe.ect its not a bad engine swap tbh quiet easy
