As above, law states you need proof of ownership to have plates made for your car, and any scoob doesn't (by law) have "import plates" as they can all fit the standard size plate on.

I replaced my front one the other week as I got a crack in it.
I got a standard plate with the EU GB section on it.
Cost me £10 inc VAT from my local motor spares shop.
here is the website of the company: The Parts People
I just walked in with all my relavent documents and they made it there and then for me.
simples!

By law, yes you do need to have it done properly and have the postcode / name of the company along the bottom of the plate. To have this done you will need the V5 document BUT.......
You won't draw any attention to your plate as long as the correct spacing and font is used.
I have plates from an online show plate company that were cheaper and as my plate doesn't have the 7 digits, they provided a smaller front plate.
Flew through it's MOT as well.
