I'll be facing the same issue next year when I fit a front mount; at the moment I'm thinking that I will remove the front fogs and fit covers, and move my square number plate over the left fog light. Might also go for a facelift bumper while I'm at it

Standard front numberplate, doesnt really intrude and it stops the cops pulling you

I believe its the font size that is incorrect there is a nice list of things you can/cannot do with numberplates here:- http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2001/uksi_20010561_en.pdf

Basically if your car has a fitment that fits UK plates then thats what has to be fitted (no square numberplates) so all scoobs fall into this category (unless imported before 1999).
Its in there somewhere

Hey V5RVLTD that is similar to what i was thinking of going for on my classic, what dimensions is your plate? I was also thinking of getting a stick on one to put on my V4 splitter, but not sure if this will work well as it is slightly curved (and i can't find anywhere that does custom size stick-on plates)

Read that part though about sticker numberplates they have not been legal for quite some time

Self-adhesive number plates for the bonnet of your car!
These number plates are reflective, and pass BSAU145d reflection tests; the characters are cut to the correct size and font, ie New Charles Wright. The height is 79mm and the spacing is correct as per DVLA requirements. However, these plates are NOT road legal!

I got mine made by a local sign company, its reflective, correct size with correct size and style font. But as above they are illegal.

Ive had mine on for a while now and ive never been pulled for it

Oh and it cost £18

I don't know of, not that I have looked, any reason why you can't drill some holes in the number plate.
The odd hole here and there on the black digits themselves wouldn't be noticeable.

i got pulled in ma last car with the correct size of plate but numa nd letters only slightly smaller than the dvla state, had ma originals in the boot but still got 30quid fine,no points, speed cameras are designed to read specific height letters thats why smaller ones r illegal so the traffic cops told me,got letter from dvla saying if u get stopped a 2nd time, they will take the registration plate from ure car then u will have all the cost to get a new plate ,its not worth the grief
