Hi all. I am working on a website to allow users to compare all sorts of performance cars. Its a 1-man show, so its coming together quite slowly. At the moment, I am trying to compile information on Imprezas, but it seems the model list is huge! Over 230 models at last count.

Its a site dealing with UK available models, so that cuts the list down to UK + JDM motors.

In order to have the site as useful as possible, I'm trying to generalise the model lists as to not overwhelm users.

Here is a partial list of some UK MY99 and JDM WRX vehicles:

• UK MY99 SPORT 160 SPORT 4 DOOR
• UK MY99 210 4 DOOR
• UK MY99 PPP 250 4 DOOR
• UK MY99 WAGON 210 5 DOOR
• UK MY99 WAGON PPP 250 5 DOOR

I was thinking of doing some major pruning, just trying to get some ideas on how you guys might think of condensing the model lists to the following:

• Subaru Impreza MY99 Sport
• Subaru Impreza MY99
• Subaru Impreza MY99 PPP

• Subaru Impreza V5 WRX

Not listing auto options, or wagons if they have the same general performance stats.

Any opinions? (model list is still quite huge)

MY99/00 na cars were 123bhp not 160, that was much later on, prior to that the sports/2ltr na engines were 115bhp, and turbos from 1999 were 215bhp and prior to that 208bhp.

The numbers on the SIDC site are BS. It has some impreza models listed at 300PS. The maximum was 280PS except for the S201 IIRC. There is a listing on subaru-impreza.org which makes a lot more sense.

Thats the fantastic list I was originally working from

Its a bit hefty though, so I was thinking to try to compress it down by:

• Removing special/limited editions
• Removing duplicates of wagon versions (with same power figures)
• Remove uncommon version (to some extent)
• Remove Automatics unless they are unique versions

Trying to make the site as useful as I can, but 230 variants of impreza is a bit too hardcore unfortunately, especially as I'm hoping to provide images of all the vehicles...

Cheers for the help though guys. I have a few days off work next week so will hopefully get the impreza model list sorted out.

I think you should delete the "special 2 door type RA WRX" models, because they never existed.... if you put their code into the subaru computer database, no such model exists

Interesting (but complicated) post Guys!

I'm picking up a 1999 'V' Impreza Sport AWD Wagon on Saturday but i'm struggling to find details on the spec (eg. BHP, 0-60 etc).

Some of the information i've seen seems to suggest it's an 8v but that doesn't seem to make sense to me!
