depends how lucky and how deep your pokets are. if your lucky to find a clean sti2 or 3 your best bet buy from forums dont bother with ebay. as a lot of people can buy them but no everyone knows how to look after them. engine rebuilds will cost you a few grand atleast.
i have had 2 tegs and one subaru that i have owned for the best part of 3 years. tegs are amazing to drive the thrill you get from driving them is out of this world you 6k rpm and the engine note changes like touring car. a scooby with stage one and remap is amazing not much will get close to you on the road however reliabilty the teg wins everytime. whats quicker an sti 3 will hammer the teg around the track not much diffrence as the teg is the best handeling fwd you can buy.
if you got money buy a scoob if your on a budget buy a teg or even better go and test drive both that should help you make up your mind

You ask which car they prefer on a Subaru forum and expect an unbiased answer lol.
Both cars couldn't be more different from each other, fwd-awd, n/a-turbo etc etc.
Test drive both and make an informed decision on what will suit your needs best.
