Default Import Query

The car i'm collecting tomorrow is a 2006 Hawkeye STI Type-UK.

It's currently in Northern Ireland and on Northern Ireland plates and was registered March 1st 2006.

It was originally bought from a dealership in Doncaster but taken to Northern Ireland in 2008.

Now in Northern Ireland the first MOT is after 4 years, in England it's 3 years. I'm bringing the car back over but obviously as it's 3 and 1/2 years old it's no MOT on it at all as wasn't required in Northern Ireland.

I've got insurance on the car
The car has tax
and I've got a V55/5 form to registered it

You can't register it without a valid MOT though so thats all that it lacks.

I assume providing i've got it booked in at a MOT place i'll be fine to drive it from Holyhead to Cambridge way to the MOT place?

And I pressume I can just get it MOT'd anywhere that does MOT's as according to the Gov site, GB to NI and NI to GB no longer counts as exporting a vehicle.

In theory if any VOSA or ANPR cameras see it, it'll prob see it as a foreign car or registered to a Northern Ireland and think none-the-less but I just wanted to take the right steps to not flaunt the law.
