Default Overboosting Problems

Morning all i had my 95 classic mapped by andy forreset about 6 months ago fitted with vf35 turbo the car was mapped to 1.4 bar boost which is safe recently i have been driving and when put foot down the car is boosting by that point my gauge reads to 1.6 and it is tocuhing that then the car is stuttering as if the fuel is cutting also andy set the check engine light to flash as a warning signal and when the car starts to stutter when it has overboosted the check engine light flashes till you take foot of the gas. any ideas would be welcomed as to what could be causing this.

regards

gavin

That little flashing check engine light is most likely set to show you're getting det. Drive off boost until it's been sorted. Keep doing it and it'll go bang.

Personally I'd get Andy to look at it. May need to give the map a little tweak to get it sorted out. Might only need your boost solenoid cleaned out though.

Follow the boost solenoid cleaning proceedure in the tech archives. Worth trying first. Might also be down to a bad batch of fuel or possibly a vacum leak. Check your hoses and connections

Just out of interest, have you got a 3" or 2.5" system?

I had a 3" system on my old Type R and that over boosted due to boost creep.

Ps...
