Default ECU and locks question

Maybe some kind person can help

Are the lock sets, ignition barrel etc linked to the ECU ?
Just wanted to know because I am selling an ECU and when I had new locks done over a year ago, I know Subaru had to code the car on the back of a flatbed and I was wondering if this is something that would be useful to sell together. Feel free to tell me I am a numpty if I have it all wrong

I think there is a chip in the key that ties up with the immobiliser in ecu.

I'm not sure whether you would need that because the ecu would have to be remapped for whoever you sell it to so that's probably a better question

Not on your car. The Newages were linked.
They probably recoded the transponder unit that the keys are linked to.

Oh, you are a numpty and have it all wrong

So the next question is :

Would selling the locks, door handles, key sets, barrel, transponder etc be the better option as they are obviously all linked together and if some poor soul needs to have his locks changed, then this would be a good all in one solution ??

What model year of car do you have? If it's a 99/00, the (transponder in the) keys and the lock aren't linked to the ECU, they're linked to the immobiliser unit under the dash. If you're going to sell a "set", include that.

Just wanted to know because I am selling an ECU and when I had new locks done over a year ago, I know Subaru had to code the car on the back of a flatbed
They had to tell the immobiliser to accept the codes in the new keys.

Thanks splitpin
It is a MY00 car so I will collect all the linked security bits and sell them as a set.
ECU is then going to be sold on its own as it is cracking ECU TEK3

Yea, I didn't want to confuse things
I knew Swiss had a late classic.

Definetley worth selling the keys lockset and transponder ring.
