Default Coolant type?

Hi All,

About to flush my coolant out and put in new but confused on type.
Halfords have this on their website, is it correct?

Question
Which antifreeze should I use for my Subaru WRX 2004

Answers
Subaru have been fitting Organic Acid Techology (OAT) coolants for some years now. Halfords Advanced Antifreeze is such a fluid and you should use this (and not the standard product) for your application. The product code for the Halfords Advanced Antifreeze in 1 litre pack is 798769.

Subaru docs definitely say OAT coolant only. I've used the red Halfords stuff you're talking about for the last two years with no problems.

i used the organic pink stuff from halfords in my classic and it made a right mess of my coolant system with fluffy pink crud all thorughout the system (i did flush first too). I had to drain it all, flush it again and fill will comma.

Just take a trip to the stealers like I did and pick up a container of Shell Glycol antifreeze. It was approx £6.50 for a pack
