Bizarre request time.....
I'm thinking of fitting one of these puppies to my MY00 but am a bit concerned that they are quite loud (a good thing in my opinion - capital offence in the wife's). Is there anyone around the Swindon area with a UK scoob with a scoobysport backbox fitted that I could come and have a listen to?

With just the backbox on, I found it rather quiet. In fact, on the move, you really couldn't hear it unless you had the windows down.

Since then, I've had the centre pipe replaced, and that is loud! The sound suits the car though IMO ( - I thought the sound of the backbox only was a little too understated for my taste).

Fit the backbox and then when the wife gets used to the sound try and sneak the middle section in

Just tell her the extra noise is the backbox bedding in or something

 

This is curious. When I was considering the Stromung exhaust system, there were several accounts of the system being loud until the midpipe was installed.

I would say that if your car is a 4dr you will hardly notice it, if 5dr it will be more intrusive, i have a 4dr and I've recently started driving with the back seat down so that I can hear the thing.

No accounting for taste, is there - full Scoobysport system from turbo back on both our MY00's, and Carolyn complains hers is not loud enough.....
