Apparantly the TVR driver had brake fade.....but still....looks like he aimed at the Saxo just to make sure there was one less on the roads

Glad everyone's been enjoying these. I'm sure you'll like these, not at Castle Combe but there funny. Two Brazilian Chav's. Top driving skills

Get a life, sh*t happen's and a lot of the time unfortunately it's much worse than these mild videos of car accident's where no-one was hurt apart from there pride & wallet.
Next you'll be saying you want to ban the News!

Glad your mate Dave was ok Lee. Sucks crashing I know. I'm guessing it was a right off after how hard he hit the wall. Real shame.

If he like's his Ford's Lee I found these guy's to be great; The UK Specialist in Ford, Cosworth and Lotus Twin Cam performance tuning parts
but I'm sure he's heard of them if he like's his Ford's. Good to hear some of those 3dr Sierra Cosworths are still going strong, I haven't seen many around Wales...apart from one nice black one near Merthyr.

On Castle Combe circuit the highest number of accident's usually occur at "Quarry corner" (the one where the TVR takes out the Saxo) but "Camp corner" (the one where the Escort Cossie comes a cropper) causes a lot of problem's too as it is a very fast speed corner with very little run off area on the sides although all the corner's and even the straights have seen there fair share of accident's over the years. You can't really narrow it down to anything really;
Driver error, track conditions, set up, too much speed, wrong turn in point, mechanical probs (brake fade) etc etc
This circuit was one of the fastest in the country (still is) but after some very serious incidents improvements had to be made and the entire circuit was essentially slowed down by the additions of the "Esses" and "Bobbies". I found though that these have actually made it a more enjoyable and challenging circuit to race on and has given two more great spectator points. After all anyone can plant the throttle down hard in a straight line but it takes a lot more skill keeping your speed in the corner's.

Does anyone else get track insurance??

I hope Simon paid for the pug!
This is one reason i've never tracked my car, as much fun as it probably is, and as good a driver you may be, it's the other drivers that could destroy your car, as the TVR and Simon in the Evo, both trying too hard.

The corner is a very rewarding corner when you get it right

But the track is rising up into the Corner and dips down on the exit So exit point is blind until you actually turn in also perharps a negitve camber as you near exit clipping piont. IIRC

If you then feel you can vastly improve your entry speed but exit speed then is too high for dip and off camber. Then Talent driver error, he panics, too much throttle/steering/ brake input = accident IMHO

never mind quarry bend, i find this the most difficult corner due to the sheer build up of speed before it and the difficulty in seeing the exit

Also did anyone see that black Evo (8 or 9 I think) that crashed at Camp corner big time after something went horriby wrong with his motor last year. Sure it was Japfest last year you will know if you saw it because it was the fastest thing on the track.....till it crashed that is.

I just think its childish to take pleasure from others' bad luck or judgement.

If however the OP is regularly on track and is a good driver or posts his own crash up to start the thread then it's a different matter.

otherwise, ****.

maybe you get my point, maybe not.
