Which would you choose?
Hi Guys ( and Gals )
My other half is wanting to get me something for my 30th next month, and I have thought of doing one of these rally days..........
Does anyone know of a good one where I get a decent day out, and a good amount of time in the car? Would prefer one that uses Imprezas so I can put the rally day into practice in my own.
Or
Should I go on one of these one to one driver tuition days that teaches me how to put my Impreza to better use ( obviously where permitted ).
Advice and opinions welcomed by all, and if you have any recommendations or where to go - or who to go to, then please do tell.
Thanks,
Chris.

I would go for a one to one tuition, you can enjoy the benefits of that for the rest of your driving life whereas the rally experience is over in just a few hours

I would say taking your own car on track would be the most fun and provide some useful insight into how your car handles on the limit.
I've tried a couple of different track days. My wife had a rally experience at Oulton park this year in a RWD rs2000, plenty of track time and sliding although I think we would rather have spent the money on a full day course in Wales where you get a good 2-3 hours of car time on a proper rally stage rather than an actual 30 minutes driving time.
One thing I wouldn't recommend to anyone is one of the low cost lambo experiences - wouldn't let me or anyone take it above 4k revs and would only let me use 3rd and 4th - a hairpin in 3rd - weak! Cost about £120, car time about 5 minutes top, wait time about 2 hours.
Keep a critical eye on time at the wheel with any of the events

book yourself into carlimits driver training day, its a great day and you will learn more than you think. then when funds allow book a track day up and put what you have learnt into practice
