Well your going to have different answers from anyone who has one
Options are version 3/limited/4/limited/5/limited/6/limited/p1/22B etc

So I will go with my Version 5 Type R in cool grey with the 22b close behind

Obviously if i could id have a 22b, but when i brought mine i went for a 98 v-limited as it seemed a bit more rare than all the other type r i looked at and i got it a good price, plus it had the cool roof vent

why not go for the best, if you can get 1 that is. WRX STI Spec C Type RA-R. its simply the best. . no big spoiler, 4.3 inch diameter exhaust, targeting big torque from low revs, why dont tuners copy this cars spec rather than chasing bhp?

I think it all depends what you want from it. I would deffinatley go for one with the newer dash as this makes the world of differance when you are in the car. Then it depends what you want looks wise. My v-limited came without the big spoiler, without side skirts and spats, all to save on weight. Ive added the big spoiler to mine tho as i like them better with. I believe mine also has a closer box than a normal type r, the same as an ra which off the mark is great but obviously revs higher if you are on a long motorway drive. Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong but mine also has a larger turbo, haveing a vf22 fitted which i also believe is the largest of the vf series turbos ( from what i have read anyway) . So as i said, id depends what yo want out of the car. Lets be honest tho, all of the type r are nice cars and i wouldnt turn any of them down.

I bought V4 - just because it was in the best condition of all the ones I looked at. I would have gone V5, V6, V4, then V3 given a choice. Not too sure about the Ltd/V-Ltd editions though.

I would go for the Version 6 wrc limited type r, it has all the extras plus the sti 2.25 quick rack, blue seats and dash inserts.
