Red face sports cat help please

hi guys my car failed mot today due to having a 100 cell sports cat which im gutted about does anyone know if a 200cell defo passes mot and the quickest place for me to get one many thanks

Did you/the tester get the car h-o-o-o-o-o-t before testing?

My car did exactly the same last week, can't say I was too pleased ether. From what I have heard, a 200 cell should pass without problems as long as your fueling is correct.

yes myles car was hot he even done a long smoke test on it too give it more chance il see exhausts uk see what the say about theyre 200 cell option as they give us discount dont they?

I dont know if Japspeed do one, but they are doing a group buy on here on 100 cell, so give them a shout. They might have one and do a deal on it.

hi,

I can tell you the 200cell cats from exhausts uk do indeed pass mot. there is one on my car, just been for it's third mot and passed fine.

nice on cheers mark is that the only cat in your system as mine only got the one in the down pipe which is 100 cell

also pogues where is the lamda hole on the exhausts uk one and roughly what size hole ?

hi bignath4607,

Mine is a 2003(53) sti, is yours a classic?

Yes mate that is the only cat on it, and the sensor positions and sizes are the same as the standard subaru. i bought the 3" system and it fitted like a glove, the only thing the cat is futher down than the standard position, which i questioned at the time of purchase, and they said they get better flow rates with it in this position.

yes mark mine is a classic looks like il need to get a new lamda then as i had to weld the old one in shouldnt be a problem thanks alot mate

surprised,i thought the 100 cell passed o.k when hot, maybe you are unlucky and the cat isnt working as well, i have a 100 cell on mine,might ask for an emissions test a week or so before the test,see where i am

yeah it will be worth findin out before test wish i had was defo hot aswell im a mechanic by trade so made sure

This is a worry for me 2 umm i thought the 100 cell sport cat would be ok for the emissions as long as it was hot, i went with the prodrive cat as i thought it would be less hassle at mot time think i might get my emissions check before hand 2
