I'm having similar thoughts with MY99 at the moment too as mines begun creaking an awful lot of late. Would normally just wait until it went before I worried too much, seeing as though I'm so skint at the mo, but what with those tremendous coilover deals on here at the mo, I'm just so tempted to credit card it while theyre such a good price.

I've got a similar problem on my Bug GX. The creaking isn't too loud tho and only happens every once in a while. I also have no rear ARB (yet!) which I'd imagine would put more stress on the struts.

Before you go and spend all your cash on coil covers, get the suspension checked first you might only need some bushes changed especially if its only creaking. With the knocking tho I think your better off changing than trying to repair

The sensible side of me knows this mate Think I'm trying to talk myself into it for no good reason, as per usual...

I know what you mean I also fancy a set of those BC coil overs But its not just the cost of the shocks its then cost of fitting them and a good geometry set up,so I would have thought somewhere about £1000. You try explaining that to the wife She already thinks the car is a bottomless pit of money

Which bushes are directly related to the suspension mate? Don't know much about this and been thinking of upgrading some.
