AM FOOKED DONT NO WHAT IT IS
hi all my mate just bought a s plate wrx wagon was boosting fine wen he got it then during that day later on went he went back out in it it wont go over 4500 rpm at all any help much appreciated as hes nipping my head to help sort it out thanks

you need to check the error codes (i'm guessing the CEL is lit?)
www.scoobypedia.co.uk under the ecu heading shows you how to do this.
The plugs may be taped up so hard to find.
You will get code(s) ,post them up and people can tell you what is wrong.

Bet he shoved a tankful of fuel in it just before this happened?
Oh and dont just reset it, you need to find the underlying issue unless he wants a 2.5k bill for an engine.
