Hi Guys,

I know the usual tyre size for the Impreza WRX is 205-45-17 or 215-40-17

but will a 205-40-17 tyre fit on the usual standard rims?

Or will it cause car balance issues?

Any thoughts welcome.

Yes it will fit I had them on mine when I first got it but the difference between them and the 215/40's I have on now was day and night. Ride and handling is much better now.

 

As above, but the 205/40/17s look a little small in the arches.

Remembering the 40 profile is a percentage of the tyre width (205mm).

So the tyre wall on a 215/40/15 will be slightly higher than a 205/40/17 tyre.
