I have a '94 impreza turbo but am unsure if it is uk or imported.

What are the visual differences between the two?

there should be alot of jap writing, e.i on the sunviser and engine bay.

not 100% only had mine for 7months

Hmm,

Mine has a rear wiper, centre brake light, air con.

The foglight is in with the brakelight.

Just says SUBARU on the boot.

quick ones to look for without knowing the model codes

UK=
Head lamp washers
Bright button on dash
No added fog light as these are part of rear cluster
Speedo reads in MPH (With no stickers etc)
Doesn't have electric folding mirror, but the Uk ones are heated
No space for road flare in the passenger footwell (A small clip under the glove box)
No rear wash/wiper (But the WRX RA doesn't have that either)
Alot of UK cars never came with AC as this was an expensive dealer option
Seats are noramlly quite plain not the red and black that a WRX has or the nice Black and gray the STI have

mmm interesting the badge is on UK cars (metal letters) the imports got cheap stickers which say WRX

VIN number should only be 9 digits, UK are 17

My applied model code is:

GF8BK8D

Which transletes to:

G - impreza
F - wagon
8 - 2.0l turbo
B - my94
K - Should say 2,4 or 5 relating to the doors, what does k mean?
8 - wrx
D - 5 spd manual.

So according to that, i own a wrx.

Thing is, the v5 has IMPREZA TURBO 2000 4WD as the model.

Is there no way of geting a definitive answer?

Nope the K is only on UK cars (as far as i know) so you do have a Turbo 2000

I agree with most i only realy look for the rear wiper and the fog light to know a uk or jap
