Default NEWB looking to purchase a scooby for the first time

Hi all,

Just this very second joined this site. I am currently in the market place for a 1999-2000 UK Spec Impreza Turbo. Insurance or anything not an issue as i've had along history of performance fords etc but its time to go jap and get something decent

Anyway, i've seen a couple of cars one of which said you guys would know alot about it so here's the link

Immaculate 1999 Subaru impreza uk turbo on eBay (end time 12-Jul-09 19:26:50 BST)

Its on there and piston heads and im very interested but im wondering if the mileage at 150k despite the rebuild would constitute a no no, i do about 200 miles a week to work and back and a bit on weekends but not much.

To be honest most parts look to me to be relatively new but should a rebuild be a point where i just say no thanks....i thought id ask the guys in the know.

Cheers all

looks neat, it states in the ad that there is a break down documentation regarding the rebuild. apart from that you should watch out that the 150k does not reflect on the bodywork.

my budget is about 3-3500 for a 1999-2000 UK 2000 awd. saloon, not after a wagon.

I have seen another in derbyshire for 3000ono 83k as long as cambelt has been done it looks very tidy - standard bodywork (champagne silver) but a bit of a sleeper under the bonnet. Really looking for something this weekend to be fair too. lol. Been shopping round for a few weeks now but haven't seen a bean!

There is always pistonheads

This one is in derbyshire

Subaru : impreza turbo , mica blue, classic, facelift

Lancs for this one

Subaru : SUBARU IMPREZA TURBO 2000 AWD ONLY 47K 2000 On X R but says cat c

Greater manchester for this one

Subaru : Subaru Impreza Turbo 2000 UK W reg 81k FSH UK CAR

Another one in derbyshire but slightly modified

Subaru : Modified UK Impreza turbo 2000 awd.

So a few in your price bracket
Just watch for those induction kits, they can break the MAF sensors which are a little sensitive on the 99/00 cars, ask if they still have the original air box (complete with all the piping) and put it back to standard.

I'm still on the look out for something. I must be getting too picky.

Well i went out today for a drive to cambridgeshire and bought myself a 2000 UK Turbo, its nearly mint and very much standard asides an addition of a ninja system, FSSH, an amazing colour - almost burgundy red, never seen it before. My first ever subaru and god i can't believe i waited this long for this smile on my face! I will post some pics up soon.

Thanks everyone for the advice n help etc.

Cheers

Steve

Yes mate. The red classic I had. Sold it to Jamie last June and he's just sold it a couple days ago to someone.
